The steering drive wheel motor integrates a drive motor, steering motor, and gear reducer into a unified mechanical structure, combining product handling, locomotion, traction, and steering functions into one unit. It is primarily used in automated guided vehicles (AGVs), mobile robots, and intelligent logistics equipment. This design enables the steering drive motor to provide both traction (propulsion) and active steering, granting it two degrees of freedom. Consequently, a single- wheel steering drive motor can execute diverse movement patterns including lateral movement, longitudinal movement, on-the-spot rotation, and diagonal travel.

Highly Integrated Design
This steering drive wheel motor integrates components such as the drive motor, steering motor, servo controller, speed feedback device (e.g., encoder), position feedback mechanism, limit switches, braking mechanism, and support structure into a single compact modular unit.
This design simplifies the installation process. Users only need to connect it to the AGV chassis interface via a flange, eliminating the need for complex debugging and external wiring.
Direct Drive Technology Application
Direct drive mode is achieved using permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) or dual permanent magnet servo motors, eliminating energy loss, mechanical wear, and noise issues associated with traditional gear reducers. This technology delivers higher torque output and millisecond-level response speed, with transmission efficiency exceeding 90%. It enables low-speed high-torque operation and high-precision control. Steering supports 360° omnidirectional rotation, enabling on-the-spot turning, lateral movement, and travel in any direction.
High Load Capacity and Stability
The steering drive wheel motor is highly suitable for heavy-duty towing, supporting cargo handling from hundreds of kilograms to several tons. It is ideal for forklift-style or towing-style AGVs. The integrated output housing and dual-support structure ensure high torsional rigidity and precision, preventing deformation or instability under heavy loads. Integrated with high-precision absolute encoders and servo drives, achieving sub-millimeter positioning accuracy and path tracking. The system supports closed-loop control, providing real-time feedback on speed, position, and angle information to ensure accuracy along complex paths (such as curves or obstacle avoidance). Additionally, equipped with limit switches and braking mechanisms to enhance safety, preventing damage during over-travel or emergency stops. Ideal for applications demanding high motion precision, such as component transportation in smart manufacturing or precise docking in logistics warehousing.
Flexibility and Multifunctional Adaptability
A single-wheel steering drive motor configuration enables basic forward, reverse, and turning movements; dual or multiple steering wheels support omnidirectional movement, on-the-spot rotation, and lateral shifting, offering exceptional flexibility.
